Chef Kai's story

A love letter served on every plate.

Gugma means “love” in both Bisaya and Hiligaynon. The restaurant grew from Chef Kai and Vianne's friendship, their shared nursing-school memories, and a long-held dream of building a place centred on food, warmth and connection.

Chef Kai transformed her passion for home-cooked meals into culinary artistry, while Vianne remained the trusted taste tester and partner behind the dream. Gugma is their celebration of friendship, Filipino comfort and the pure essence of love.
